Remaining Tasks from the 2017 International
April having difficulty connecting with Ron Fox to officially close the 2017 international conference and transfer remaining funds to Texas for 2018.
ACTION: April to contact Ron to finalize 2017 conference and transfer funds.
Server / Domain Fees
GoDaddy – www.sawe.ca
Robert and Whidy getting emails from GoDaddy for the sawe.ca domain.
George doesn’t know who is receiving emails / who is the administrator.
George’s name is on the account, April’s is for billing.
We have log on information, but doesn’t seem like we can change the name on the account without calling in.
ACTION: George may be the only one that can change the name on the account, will need confirm.
Need to confirm that the emails are going to active SAWE executive members.
Look into set up of info@sawe.ca email account via outlook for multiple members to be able to access (for after we have the account issues sorted out)
April has successfully logged into the webmail for info@sawe.ca, and changed the password.
ACTION: see if we can setup info@sawe.ca as additional account on Outlook for all chapter executive.
Chapter Membership
While Paul was in Nagoya, Japan on business, he spoke with the Mitsubishi RJ program’s weight team about the SAWE and the value of being members.
Andy is now back in the USA, and he spent a lot of time in BC drumming up membership out there, particularly before the 2017 International. Since then, many have fallen through the cracks for membership. Difficulty for connecting with the BC people when there is significant distance from Toronto and Montreal.
Discussion about the BC people joining the Seattle Chapter, so they could be better engaged regionally from a closer distance.
The Japanese would likely also benefit best from being members in Seattle as the closest chapter.
International Conference – Outstanding Actions?
ACTION: Left over funds from conference need to go back to the SAWE international for the next conference in 2018 – April
ACTION: April to review expenses categorized in the budget to finalize actuals

Plan for the coming year
Usually get an email request from SAWE international for plan for this coming year (calendar year, so next January)
Continue to reach-out to the universities
Industry and universities presentations (particularly the one that was translated into French that hasn’t been presented yet in Montreal)
Membership drive (student and professional)
Airlines affairs (Rob Hargrave) – passenger loading input / recommendations
Whidy’s boards that he’s sitting on
Who submits a plan for the chapter’s coming year’s plans? Either Director or President – email from SAWE international.
Need to detail out the plans once the request comes in.
Robert noted that the minutes from previous airline affairs sessions haven’t been posted online – will contact Andy to see about how individuals in the various chapters
Membership Update
22 paid, 6 are new members, 3 lifetime members
15 members still to renew, April to send out another reminder
Action: April to send out a renewal reminder to members who have not renewed.
Action Review
Whidy to have the discussion with Andy Brooks before end of year regarding SAWE international website
Access to pictures from conference
- Melissa Rapier (FB group) has link and will post pics on FB site
- ACTION: Rob to make site that is read/download only – no editing permitted (to get suggestions from SAWE international for what has worked for previous conferences)
10 members still to renew. Final reminders to be sent out, then will be removed from
2017-010 – still trying to figure out what is owed to MTL, discrepancy between SAWE international and Canada Chapter.
